Our Guarantee

THE MASTER PLUMBERS ASSOCIATION OF QUEENSLAND (hereinafter referred to as "THE ASSOCIATION" undertakes with the clients of its members participating in this scheme -

  1. That it will guarantee the standard of completed contract works by any participating member of the Association performed for a client of such member subject always to the conditions herein. A client shall be given a copy of this guarantee to evidence the clients entitlement to the benefit of this procedure.
  2. This undertaking is limited to plumbing contracts (whether or not in writing) in which the client is the principal or proprietor and is not a builder, a head contractor for contract works on behalf of other parties or Commonwealth/State/Local Government Authority or instrumentality and being in the first instance for work performed to a value of $15,000 in the aggregate subject to an increase of up to $5,000 in the aggregate to allow for work variations subsequently added to such contract.
  3. Where a client is dissatisfied with completed contract works performed by a participating member and a written complaint is made to the Association within a period of 12 months from the date of completion, the Association will investigate such complaint as soon as reasonable convenient.The Association will determine whether or not the contract works have been completed to a standard satisfactory to the Association. If the Association is of the opinion that further work is necessary to rectify such works to the appropriate standard it will arrange for such further work to be done PROVIDED ALWAYS that the value of such remedial work shall be limited to the sum of $5,000 in the aggregate in respect of any one contract.
  4. This undertaking shall not cover any liability whatsoever for personal injury or damage to property or pecuniary loss which may have arisen as a result of or in connection with contract works or remedial works.
  5. This undertaking shall not apply where the contract works have not been completed, Where a client submits a claim to the Association and such claim is accepted by the Association, the client shall be deemed to have assigned any clause of action against the original contactor in favour of the Association. The client shall provide such information to the Association as the Association may reasonably require to assist the Association in processing the client's claim.
  6. The Association reserves the right to discontinue the Scheme or to vary the terms and conditions of the scheme.
  7. This warranty does not limit your statutory rights under the Trade Practices Act.
